Basics written by Hell_Ashes
Here is a list of what each command does in Freetar Editor.
Under File
- New Song - Choose a song of any type (ex: mp3.) to be tranfered into a Guitar Hero song.
- Open Song - Open a song that is either complete or in editing.
- Save - Saves all changes to the current song.
- Save As - Saves all changes to the current song plus adding a name. (Must add name if it's a new song.)
- Exit - Exits Freetar Editor.
Under Edit
- Undo - Erases the last action done in the editor.
- Redo - Brings back the last undone action.
- Cut - Erases the section you highlighted and is put on an imaginary clipboard to be pasted in another area.
- Copy - Copies the section you highlighted and is put on and imaginary clipboard to be pasted in another area.
- Paste - Pastes the section that is on the imaginary clipboard.
- Delete - Deletes the section you highlighted.
- Insert Note on Track 4 - Places an Orange note in the area that you are at.
- Insert Note on Track 3 - Places a Blue note in the area that you are at.
- Insert Note on Track 2 - Places a Yellow note in the area that you are at.
- Insert Note on Track 1 - Places a Red note in the area that you are at.
- Insert Note on Track 0 - Places a Green note in the area that you are at.
- Move Forward - Moves all highlighted notes one beat forward.
- Move Backwards - Moves all highlighted notes one beat backwards.
- Move Note Up - Moves all highlighted notes up one track.
- Move Note Down - Moves all highlighted notes down one track.
- Increase Duration - Increases how long the note lasts.
- Decrease Duration - Decreases how long the note lasts.
- Enable Hammer-Ons - Makes all highlighted notes "hammer-on" able.
- Disable Hammer-Ons - Makes all highlighted notes non "hammer-on" able.
- Song Properties - Change the song properties. (See Properties)
Under Select
- Select All - Highlights all notes in the song.
- Select None - Unhighlights all notes in the song.
Under View
- Zoom In - Zooms in closer to notes.
- Zoom Out - Zooms out farther from notes.
- Reset Zoom - Brings the zoom back to default.
Under Options
- Draw Precise Note Lines - Puts a red line in the middle of the note to make it easier to see how accurate the note is.
- Draw Note Press Times - When in Practice Mode or Strum Timing Mode, this shows where you strummed using a black line.
- Draw Note Error Bars - Shows the margin of error the game will allow for the note to be correct using a horizontal, thick, gray bar.
- Green Track on Bottom - Puts the green track on the bottom. With this disabled, it is the layout of Guitar Hero.
- Disable Pitch Shift - Disables the ablity to change pitch with the whammy bar.
- Configure Controller - Set the button on the controller the way you want it.
Under Playback
- Normal Playback Speed - Sets the speed of the song to normal.
- 1/2 Speed - Cuts the speed of the song to half.
- 1/4 Speed - Cuts the speed of the song to a quarter.
- Play Music - Plays the song.
- Pause Music - Pauses the song at the spot you are at.
- Stop Music - Stops the music and brings it to the beginning.
- Skip to Beginning of Song - Brings your to the beginning of the song. (Can be done while playing the song.)
- Skip to End of SOng - Brings you to the end of the song. (Can be done while playing.)
- Seek Ahead 0.5s - Moves you ahead half a second in the song.
- Seek Behind 0.5s - Moves you back half a second in the song.
- Reset Note States - When in Practice Mode or Strum Timing Mode, it makes all the notes red that are behind where you are.
- Do Nothing Mode - Mode where you are only allowed to move notes around.
- Practice Mode - Mode where you play the song using the fret buttons and the strummer.
- Strum Timing Mode - Mode where you play the song using the strummer.
- Press Strum to Record Mode - Mode where you press frets and you strum to record notes.
- Press Button to Record Mode - Mode where you press frets to record notes.
Under Help
- About - Information about Freetar Hero.
Under Properties
- Title - The title of your song.
- Artist - The artist who created the song.
- Album - The album the song was in.
- Year - The year the album was made.
- Beats Per Second - The ammount of beats that are in each second.
- Allowable Error Time - The ammount of error that is allowed where the note is still correct.
- Selected Difficuly - The difficulty the song is at with descriptions.
